Foxtrot's Former Gummy Guy Starts His Own Candy Enterprise

We're Leah and Curtis, and whether you're on our page for the candy, or because you love us, we thank you!

For years, Curtis procured Swedish gummies for the Chicago corner store Foxtrot, earning himself the nickname "King Candy" from co-workers and purveyors alike. During those years, our family brought gummies to every special occasion, gifted them to family and friends, and in doing so allowed the sour treat to become a huge part of our lives.

When Foxtrot locations declared bankruptcy at the end of April 2024, abruptly closing all stores without notice, our family of four was left without its only source of income and no clear path on how to make ends meet.

News articles and Reddit threads blew up with the collective mourning of the gummy mixes that were beloved by many across the city. And we got to thinking... maybe King Candy's reign didn't have to end.

Sour Streak was born from a desire to take our sour luck and turn it into sweet dreams. Our greatest hope is to build this company into a candy staple that you can find in independent grocery spots, bookstores, at street fests and markets, and for wedding and events.

We're excited and committed to this opportunity, yet with little financial wiggle room, we humbly ask for your help in getting things off the ground.
