Please Help Support Eddie (Law) Aronofsky's Kidney Battle

Dear Friends and Family,

This is Debbie Lueddeke and I am reaching out to you in regard to my brother, Eddie Aronofsky (Aka Eddie Law to his fans) for your support. Eddie and his family live in Tennessee and for about the last year and a half he has been battling serious health issues. This is his story:

In November of 2022, Eddie was experiencing multiple debilitating symptoms throughout his body such as night sweats, unexplained weight loss, fatigue and joint pain, in addition to the hypertension he has had for many years. These symptoms led him to get a battery of tests. Eddie’s labs showed that he had very low iron and was considered anemic and the labs also detected inflammation throughout his whole body. He went in for iron infusion therapy, but unfortunately his levels were still low. Doctors were unable to diagnose the cause of his symptoms as some of his scans and ultrasounds came back negative. They thought that he may have the autoimmune diseases, like Lupus or Rheumatoid Arthritis. Doctors decided to do a full body CT which unbelievably took 3 months to get approved by insurance. Unfortunately, the report came back that the doctors found a grapefruit sized malignant mass on Eddie’s right kidney, which was diagnosed as stage 2, Clear Cell Carcinoma Kidney Cancer. His left kidney appeared to be ok. As a result of this diagnosis, doctors recommended that Eddie have his right kidney removed (nephrectomy) as the malignant mass was too large to cut out. Eddie’s nephrectomy surgery was performed in December of 2023.

During his recovery process and follow-up tests this year, Eddie went on anti-inflammatory meds as they diagnosed him with having lupus. Thereafter, the follow up labs showed his numbers for inflammation were in the proper range, but the urinalysis labs were coming back abnormal with large amounts of protein and blood in his urine suggesting that there was a problem with his remaining left kidney and that the doctor once thought that the lupus was attacking his kidney? Given that his inflammatory lab numbers were good the doctors reevaluated his lupus diagnosis and decided for Eddie to have a biopsy of his remaining kidney to see what the actual damage was coming from. His biopsy was on May 22nd. The report showed that it wasn’t lupus, but it turned out to be his years long hypertension that was severely damaging his kidney. He is off the anti-inflammatory meds and is currently on a higher dose of blood pressure meds. Unfortunately, this latest health complication now puts Eddie in a dire situation.

Eddie is currently still experiencing joint pain and fatigue daily and hasn’t been able to work throughout the entirety of this process. Needless to say, the fear and stress of an uncertain future for him, Lana and their son, Martin is very scary. The financial toll of uncovered medical expenses and out of pocket costs has put his family in an unfortunate and overwhelming situation.

Eddie still has a long road ahead as more tests are being ordered to further diagnose and recommend a course of action for his kidney issue. As we speak, Eddie is under the care of a Nephrologist, but is still in limbo as to what will happen in regard to his remaining kidney. We pray he doesn’t need dialysis or a kidney transplant.

It is heartbreaking to watch my brother and his family go through this, especially living far away from them. We are all surrounding Eddie and his family spiritually with healing prayers and love throughout his health journey. Our families would be so grateful for any financial support towards Eddie and his families medical expenses . There is no donation too small. From the bottom of my heart, my family and I can’t thank you enough for your love and support. Please keep Eddie and his family in your prayers. Thank you so much.

Love and gratitude,

Debbie Lueddeke and the Aronofsky and Lueddeke Families
