Support for Azlan's Family in Difficult Times

Assalamualaikum, I am Muhammad Arif Aiman (Emang) and on behalf of my family, we are deeply saddened to share that our beloved father Azlan bin Abdullah passed away on the evening of May 18, 2024.

On that same day in the morning, my family (parents and my little brother Aqil) arrived from Malaysia to the US to attend my graduation ceremony at the University of Maryland. I picked them up at Dulles Airport. It was their first time being in the US and they were very happy and excited.

During a graduation gathering with close friends and family, my father had a heart attack. The emergency response team assisted but could not stabilized his heart and was brought to Shady Grove Hospital for more emergency care. He passed away that evening.

All funeral services will be done on May 19, 2024. The washing of the jenazah will be at Hakim’s Funeral Home Services and jenazah prayers will be done at the Islamic Center of Maryland in Gaithersburg after Zuhr.

Shortly after the prayer, the burial will take place at the Al Firdaus Memorial Gardens in Frederick.

Alhamdulilah, my mother and little brother is here for the funeral process and my little sister, Syatul (a student at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) is on her way to the USA from Malaysia to be with us. As eldest son, we have started this fundraising campaign to help cover the emergency medical expenses, funeral expenses and provide near-term financial support, as not all expenses are covered by travel insurance and we are far from our home in Malaysia.
