Support for Derek's Family in Unexpected Loss

My name is Laken and I am trying to help raise funds to support my uncles family after his recent death. The money raised will go towards the unforeseen expenses that come along with a sudden and unexpected death.

Derek Lee Blood, a husband, father, friend, and a linemen has passed away suddenly on June 15th at the age of 43 in Bayou Chicot, LA. Derek was an amazing man that loved his friends & family deeply, always going above & beyond for the next person. He had a passion for his work as a linemen and was always his brother’s keeper at work. Derek also had a passion for hunting, camping, and most of all cooking. My uncle always opened his home for everyone to say no one was ever a stranger to him. If anyone needed help he was always a call away and now his family is the one who needs the help. I hope we can show our appreciation for all the time spent away from his family working on keeping everyone’s else’s lights on. Please do what you feel in your heart, as I know he would.

He leaves behind a wife of 14 years, one daughter(17), a son(15), as well as many beloved family & friends.
