Support for Lexi's Family in Tragic Loss
Donation protected
On Thursday, May 23, 2024, our daughter was killed by a tornado in Toluca, Mexico. We are Tim and Shasta Thorp, the parents of Lexi Thorp. Lexi was visiting her fiancé in Mexico to determine which country they would prefer to start their lives together in after getting married. Tragically, while out with her soon-to-be brother-in-law, there was an unexpected tornado with wind speeds of 138 mph that forced a brick wall to collapse on both Lexi and Eric, tragically taking both of their young lives instantly.
Lexi was just coming into her own at the young age of 22. Lexi was a funny, outgoing, and beautiful soul. Lexi was generous, kind, and free-spirited. Lexi made it her mission to share her kind spirit with everyone she crossed paths with. Her smile and laugh were infectious, and she brightened up the lives of everyone who knew her. We will miss her forever.
We have been working with the US Consulate and Mexican government to try and bring her back home to Spokane for funeral services. Due to her being a U.S. citizen on foreign soil, there are several steps that need to happen in order for us to bring her back. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be having to make several trips to Mexico to coordinate her transport and funeral arrangements. Things have been hard for us financially after a work injury left her father disabled, so we would greatly appreciate any support.
Her twin sister Lasea, and older brother Tyler, are absolutely devastated by the loss of their sister. Lexi was a huge part of their hearts and lives and they were extremely close. We are so grateful for any support during this gut-wrenching time. Any amount you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated. If you aren't able to donate at this time, please share with your friends and family. It would mean so much to us to bring her home and it would bring much peace to her family.
Thank you and hold your kids close to you.
