Hello, my name is Candy Brayden, and I am reaching out to ask for your support for my brother-in-law, Fred Hammitt and his loving family during this incredibly difficult time.

A year ago, Fred was diagnosed with emphysema and reduced lung function, which changed his life dramatically. Despite these challenges, Fred remained strong and continued to fight. Unfortunately, this past weekend, Fred was admitted to the hospital, where he received the devastating news that he has aggressive lung cancer.

Fred’s condition has deteriorated rapidly, and doctors have advised that he will need hospice care at home. The family's home needs urgent repairs to make it a safe and comfortable space for Fred to spend his remaining time surrounded by his loved ones. The costs of these necessary renovations, combined with the mounting medical bills and anticipated funeral expenses, have placed an overwhelming financial burden on his wife and family.

Fred has always been the rock of his family—kind, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Now, he needs our help. We are raising funds to help cover the costs of fixing their home, ensuring Fred has a comfortable place to come home to during his final days. Additionally, the funds will help cover his funeral expenses, giving his family the ability to grieve without the added stress of financial worry.
