Help Support Gwen’s VCU Summer Experience

Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful day! As you may know, art is my passion- something that I have started to seriously work at for over 9-10 years- striving to get better and taking multiple opportunities to do so. Being in 11th grade- nearing the end of my high school career- I am starting to visit and look into colleges that have what I am interested in pursuing. I have a list of options, but the one I am most interested in is VCU School of Arts in Richmond, VA. It is a high ranked art college that has several different programs that I can attend. VCU has both academic and arts divisions which makes for good multitasking and life balancing skills. It also allows for double major, so I will be able to have a plan B if anything happens and arts does not work out. Its acceptance rate for the art program is about 25%. I want to have the highest chance of getting in- and helping with that I applied to attend the VCUarts Summer Art Pre College program. It's a program that offers rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors the opportunity to attend masterclasses to explore different interests in the arts. I want to attend it for the Animation/ Kinetic Imaging concentration.

This week I was accepted into the program! It goes from July 7-26. Although relatively short in duration, the entire program costs $4,250 dollars to attend (that is due by May 1st).

I have raised approximately $1000 by working my job. I've been trying to work more shifts and pick up shifts that ate available to me, but with the way my job works it is not enough for me to raise the money on my own.

I'm asking for you to help me by making a donation towards the cost of the program. Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated! I would really love to attend this program, as it gives me new experiences, new people to meet, and allows me to learn to extend my creativity and skills that will better prepare me for the near future. I absolutely love this college and the opportunities it has to offer, so attending this program would help give me a leg up in achieving my goals. If not that is completely understandable, but i think it never hurts to ask.
