Support Jaxon's Journey to New Kidneys

Donation protected
I'd like to introduce and share my nephew, Jaxon, and his journey with you.

Jaxon's journey began in December of 2022. We noticed a change in Jaxon's health. He was having frequent stomach issues and pain in his legs and feet. At first, the doctors attributed the pains in his legs and feet to growing pains. Jaxon was, after all, 11 and very active in baseball and basketball. He soon started walking with a limp and eventually couldn't run. After several doctor's appointments and no clear answers to his stomach issues or "growing pains", his doctors suggested an ultrasound of his intestines to try and figure out what was going on.

During the ultrasound on April 17, 2023, everything was looking normal with his intestines but to everyone's surprise, Jaxon had multiple cysts on both of his kidneys. He was immediately referred to a nephrologist on May 3, 2023. Labs were done May 8th.

On May 9th the Dr. called and stated some test were not done previously and were told to go to the nearest emergency room for additional testing. We decided to go straight to Dell Children in Austin, TX. He was immediately admitted to the ICU. On May 10th we were told.....Jaxon was in Stage 5/end stage renal failure. Jaxon had 6 blood transfusions and surgery to have a catheter put into his chest over his stay in ICU. On May 11th, Jaxon began hemodialysis treatments. He was released to go home on May 17th. He remained going to DCI to receive his hemodialysis for a few months. In September 2023 Jaxon began peritoneal dialysis at home and as much as he loves the staff at the dialysis clinic; he prefers to be home.

Over the last year Jaxon has had to endure many surgeries and more doctor's appointments than any child should ever have to in his young life along with going to school. This change for Jaxon and his whole family started a whole new life but together they are navigating the challenges of dialysis and all the things that come with renal failure.

Fast forward..... As of April 19,2024 Jaxon has offciially been activated on the deceased donor list and is now waiting for his new kidneys.

Now for the fun part......MEET JAXON
Jaxon is a spunky 12 year old who will be a 7th grader and attending Rockdale Jr. High this upcoming school year. Jaxon enjoys spending his time playing video games, hanging out with his big sister Jayla, playing his saxophone, and cheering on his favorite baseball team; The Texas Rangers of course. Jaxon has a sense of humor like no other. He's quick witted, sarcastic, and always making jokes. He usually has everyone laughing. He has not let this bring him down but instead continues to stay positive and look forward to everything life has to offer.

On behalf of Jaxon and his whole family, I want to thank Citizens National Bank of Rockdale, RIOT, DCI, Dell Childrens Hospital, Childrens Medical, Health Point, and the whole community for everything they have done to show support. We are eternally grateful.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this and we pray Jaxon's story brings awareness to Kindey disease especially in children. It is often referred to as the "silent killer" because it is not diagnosed till its to late.

I also would like to thank all those who donate and share this page. The funds will tremendously help Jaxon on his journey for new kidneys.
