Support Kenny and Lissette: Fire Recovery Fund

Hello, My name is Susan and I have created this go fund me for my son’s best friend Kenny and his mom Lissette. I consider them family and i love Kenny as my very own son. He’s an amazing kid, and my son and I love him dearly.

On September 3rd at 3:00am Kenny awoke to smoke and flames in his bedroom. Kenny was asleep when he awoke and noticed his LED lights were off, thinking his mother got home and turned off his lights, nothing more. But when he fully awoke and sat up in his bed he saw the flames and felt the smoke and heat in front of him. He immediately jumped out of bed only able to grab his cell phone and ran to exit his apartment only wearing boxer shorts no shirt and barefoot. Once he was in the hallway he noticed he didn’t see anyone else evacuating, so he began to bang on the doors of his neighbors to alarm them of the fire and also began opening windows to let out some of the smoke. He also proceeded to call 911. Kenny and the rest of his tenants were able to evacuate out the building safely thank god.

Law enforcement and FDNY showed up to the scene shortly after his phone call to 911. Kenny, unfortunately was not medically evaluated on the scene by any of the first responders for smoke inhalation and had to be taken later that evening to the hospital by his mother and i to make sure he was ok.

Thankfully he is in good health, and just needs some rest. But Unfortunately, Kenny and Lissette lost everything, there was nothing they were able to salvage from the fire. They have no home, no clothing, no personal documents, no family photos, and can use all the help they can get.

I ask anyone and everyone to please donate. No donation is to small, and it will all go to helping them get back on their feet. Also it will help them for when they do get their home fixed they can have the finances to refurnish it.
