Support Lisa & Stewart During His Medical Crisis in Italy

We are reaching out with a request for financial help for our beloved Lisa and Stewart. On May 20th, they set off for Venice to immerse themselves in the art of the Biennale and spend time with friends. Their creative adventure took a terrible turn when Stewart suffered a severe stroke soon after their arrival. To help ease the financial anxiety, they could use our support for the short term. The longer term is unknown.

The Current Situation

Lisa is immensely grateful for the resourceful friends who’ve been helping navigate the countless details of this crisis in a country where they don’t speak the language. She has moved to a new apartment in Mirano to be closer to the hospital where Stewart has been transferred. There is no way to know how long they will need to stay in Italy or even how we will be able to get Stewart all the way back home. While his prognosis is uncertain, Lisa remains hopeful, believing that if anyone can overcome this, it’s Stewart. And we would add that if anyone can make things happen, it’s Lisa and the team supporting her.

Despite continuing to teach her summer classes online to maintain some semblance of normalcy and a modest income, even the immediate financial burden on Lisa is significant.
