Hi, my name is John and I am fundraising for my brother Rich Malizia and his Family. Rich is a 50 yo, married, father of three boys (Cameron, Vincent and Trevor). He is passionate about his family, and values them above all else on this earth! In addition to being one of the best husbands and fathers I have ever met, he is also a loyal and committed friend. Proof of the above can be found in his boys (the finest young men I have ever known), his wife Jenny (Rich's best friend in the world) and the numerous long-term friendships he has maintained, some since grade school!

Sounds like a great man with an amazing family, right? That is true, however, one very large hurdle just inserted itself into this family's life. Rich's recent diagnosis of Bladder and Kidney Cancer. Just as so many others have endured their world being turned upside down with this diagnosis, it is now Rich's turn to fight. Despite the emotion, the unknown and the anxiety that comes along with this diagnosis, Rich is ready for the road ahead and he will fight harder than anyone I know. My brother is not a quitter, and when it comes to his family, he will move mountains to ensure they are taken care of.

The stress of the emotion and the unknown is a heavy burden to bear for anyone, let alone today where most of us are working hard to make sure the bills are paid and the house is kept up. I'm sure the vast majority of us can relate to the financial challenges facing us everyday in society. Well, so it goes with Rich. Just like so many of us, he too is facing the everyday challenges, but he works very hard and does whatever it takes to ensure that his home and family are protected. He has been successful in doing so for many years. However, now the bills are now piling up and as a result the stress is not stemming from the cancer alone.

Rich is not one to ask for anything, from anyone, and that is why I felt it my responsibility as his brother to petition all of you to consider this cause. To fight for your life is a battle no one willingly asks for, but to bear the concern of wellbeing for your family on top of it simply feels cruel and unfair.

I am asking all of you on the behalf of my brother, his family and his friends to consider the road Rich is now traveling, and to please embrace an act of kindness for a deserving family by making a donation to this heartfelt cause. No matter how small, every donation will help to ease the burden and allow this family to focus on the challenging road ahead. All proceeds will go directly to Rich and his family. The money will be spent on medical bills (expected to reach 5 figures) as well as to support the family when Rich is out of work (an undefined period of time).
