Support Toni DeLuca Mamula's New Journey

As most of you know by now, Mel Mamula has gone to be with the Lord. This was a shock to Toni and the rest of the family. We will remember Mel with love and gratitude for the life he shared with our sister. He was a constant in her life and her primary caregiver.

When she was diagnosed with the debilitating disease of Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 17, and lost the ability to walk by 25, she continued to fight. She has been wheelchair bound since then, and is legally blind in one eye - as the vicious disease also attacked her eyesight.

Toni is an inspiration to everyone she meets. She fought to live life as fully as she could — by becoming a teacher, then principal, of Quail Valley Elementary School for decades, committing herself to her church family, and marrying the love of her life, Mel.

Mel took care of Toni’s every need — from physically carrying her from place to place, taking care of every daily task, and assisting her with her long list of medical needs.

Toni’s world was turned upside down days ago, when Mel suddenly died from a massive heart attack. Not only is Toni absolutely devastated by the loss of her best friend and soulmate, but she is now overcome with fear regarding “what’s next.”

We would like to help lift some of the financial burden from Toni — as she is now forced to uproot her life to receive the medical care she needs, and move into a long-term care facility, as well as satisfy prior financial obligations that have been accrued over time.

We know Toni will be OK — because she is a fighter, and has been for decades. She is one of the kindest and most giving people we know, and we want to help make this transition as seamless as possible. Right now, the best way we can do that is by fundraising — in hopes we raise as much that is needed to make sure she receives the best possible care.
