Supporting Heather's stroke recovery
Donation protected
Hello, our names are Bernard and Lacie
On May 28th 2022 in the early morning I found my mom Heather lying on her floor in her bedroom barely responsive .
She was taken in an ambulance to St. Michaels hospital in Silverdale Washington where it was found she suffered a
Acute Ischemic Stroke that caused loss of motor functions on the left side of her body and issues with her speech and brain functions. A buildup of plaque in her right Carotid artery was the culprit of the stroke. On May 30th she was transferred to Swedish Hospital Cherry Hill to be around a team better equipped for the surgery to remove plaque and a Neurological team .
Heather Ledford is known to many people as one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She is adored by her co workers. Writing this is her son Bernard, over the last 13 years since my dad has passed away my mom and have lived together and are incredibly close. Not having my bestfriend with me at home is one of the hardest things I've suffered. Heather would do anything in her power to help the people she loves and I'm asking you all to please help her with her medical expenses and her recovery as it will be an extensive process and when she hopefully and eventually comes home . The road ahead of her is long and I will keep all of you updated to her path of recovery My mom's road to recovery and post care rehabilitation will be an extensive process, requiring surgery and continued therapy. My sister and i are asking for your support .My mom has always put others before herself and now is the time for us to put her first.
