No One Fights Alone~ Steve Kimball
Donation protected
Life is precious and sometimes all it takes Is for one moment, one word, one phrase to turn your life upside down. A few weeks ago our family was given some unexpected news. The phrase "you have cancer" is the most gut wrenching and heartbreaking thing that no one ever wants to hear.
Steve Kimball is a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is a wise and selfless man. He is someone who would give the shirt off his back without a second thought. About two weeks ago he was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. He has already faced many appointments and has started his treatment plan at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
We have already had people asking how they can help and as more people find out there will be many others who want to help. We have decided to organize this page to help get started and keep things organized. We want to keep it simple so those who feel called to donate/leave words of encouragement can do so here.
Any money that Is raised will be used for medical treatments and supportive care not covered by insurance. There will be travel and lodging expenses that go along with getting care at the university. He will also need to take unknown amounts of time off work so we want to try and take any stress off that we can so he can keep his focus and energy on healing.
We will set up a Facebook page in time when we get our bearings for medical updates and prayer requests. This page also has a space for words of support and you are welcome to put it here for him to see.
More than donations right now, we want people to know about Steve's situation because we believe in the power of prayer and so we are asking that you add him to your prayer list. Pray specifically for wisdom with medical decisions, for unexplainable peace, and for strength and healing on this journey. We fight differently because we hope differently. We have a good good father that doesn't promise life without pain, struggles, and hardships but one that promises he will never leave us alone as we walk through them.
Steve is a very private person so as you can imagine this is an adjustment for him. We do ask that you respect our privacy at this time. Feel free to leave words of encouragement here or on the Facebook page when it's up and running.
Thank you all for your support as we walk this journey.
