OK now that that's done. I am fundraising to build a PC. The PC is partly to do my mundane administrative crap with a little more wiggle room than I do now, but mostly for gaming. I have a laptop (HP Laptop 15s-du1xxx) which is, you know, fine for filing, writing, posting online, but that's about it. I've never had a computer I can play games on and I'm sick of it. I want to play The Elder Scrolls Online with my beautiful girlfriend. I want to play Halo Infinite and see how it ends for myself (I've heard it's mid, but that's my secret, Captain, I love mid shit). I want to be where the people are.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, the build will set me back a smidge over AU$2,000 in parts. The extra $500 is for tools, a monitor (or two), a desk, a comfortable chair, and in case I'm precisely that much mistaken.

I realise it's a bit cheeky to ask for funding to build a gaming PC. Mostly what's pushing me over the edge is that I'm unemployable due to disability (I'M SORRY I DIDN'T WANT THIS TO BE A SOB STORY), which means, due to restrictions on access to Australia's Disability Support Pension, I am stuck on the JobSeeker Payment, the lowest unemployment benefit in the OECD, for the foreseeable future. JobSeeker is famously not enough to survive on to begin with. If I scrimped and saved for this on my own, assuming I bled myself absolutely dry and there were no emergencies or other major expenses in the interim, I could put this money together in 12–18 months. I straight up don't want to wait that long.

I just want to play video games with my girlfriend. Please just give a girl a break.
