Hi friends,
It’s been a good year so far. In the fall, I transferred from North Davidson High School, a public school, to Salem Baptist Christian School, a private school. I have made some good friends at SBCS and have some great friends in my youth group. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful, loving family who care about my well-being as well as some great teachers. I have been able to get involved with sports again this year. In the fall, I played volleyball and I am excited to play soccer this spring. I am continuing to be involved at FCA (Fellowship for Christian Athletes). In FCA we share different lessons that we learn from the Bible. One of the things God has taught me and that I am growing in is knowing that I am loved and that I don’t have to worry about what people think about me.
Last year, I had the opportunity to participate in a program in Florida called Student Leadership University and it was an amazing experience. I am grateful for many of you who helped contribute and make that experience happen. This summer, the Lord has given me the opportunity to travel to Honduras. David and Megan Guevara serve there as a Christian witness, investing in leaders, and growing a sustainable coffee farm (Blossom Creek). They have invited me to spend time with them, learning what I can about life and ministry in Honduras. I will read through a book called Cross-Cultural Servanthood with them, work on different projects at their home and at Blossom Creek, and minister as I am able alongside the Guevara family. I see this as a great opportunity for me to be discipled by missionally-minded church leaders who love Jesus and people.
I am asking my friends and family to pray as I prepare for and go on this trip. As well, I’d like to ask you to consider partnering with me financially. The trip will cost $1,400. This cost includes flight, food, and miscellaneous housing costs for four weeks.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and considering partnering with me!
