Terry Scales Memorial Fundraiser
Donation protected
We are sad today at the loss of our friend, Terry Scales. To say we are in shock, is an understatement. It’s almost impossible to believe that a man who was a regular part of our days and weeks has been removed from earth so suddenly. Terry spent the last several weeks in the hospital fighting an infection which overtook his body, causing damage most especially to his heart and his kidneys. Despite the best of fights, Terry was called home to the Lord on February 8, 2021.
Terry leaves behind his loving wife, Melissa, his spirited children, Tyler (age 12) and Olivia (age 10), along with his parents Sue and Jason, and many additional family and friends.
Terry could easily be described as the ultimate #1 fan. He was an avid UK fan, born and bred in Kentucky. There wasn’t a football, basketball, or baseball game you wouldn’t hear the famous, “Let’s GO T” to his favorite “Wildcat”. Nor was there a volleyball, soccer, or basketball game when you wouldn’t hear “Go Olivia” echo through the crowd.
Terry once shared that he was “a hellion “growing up and gave his parents a run for their money. He loved motorcycles and owned a Harley (which he has not ridden since the kids were born….as a request by his loving wife). Despite his Harley riding days being over, we all knew that the “Wildcat crew” had arrived by his unforgettable truck and the blue corvette that was distinctly “UK all the way baby!”
Terry will be greatly missed and always hold a special place in all of our hearts. In an effort to ease the burden of Melissa during this overwhelmingly trying tragedy, we are asking for donations to help with the upcoming expenses to help compensate for medical expenses, tuition assistance, funeral costs, etc.
This man is our friend forever. While our hearts are heavy, giving up earthly time, energy, convenience, and resources to build treasures in heaven with him was worth the small sacrifices. While we are tempted to grow weary, the Holy Spirit says that “in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith. “ (Galatians 6:9-10)
