The Aftergrad Podcast Season 2

The Aftergrad Podcast is hosted by two friends and recent graduates: Robert Cain and Victoria Gilbert. After graduating from college and entering the real world as alleged adults, we were displeased with the current societal expectations and outcomes around college and work for young people entering the workforce, and there wasn't a platform speaking to these challenges from the perspective of people who followed the pipeline of higher education as a means to widen their access to wealth and opportunity only to be met with student loan debt, missed promotions, and overwhelmia. It's these sentiments that motivated us to start The Aftergrad Podcast.
We launched in November 2021 after relocating to Washington, DC and quitting our corporate jobs. Now, we are in the process of wrapping up season 1, which will conclude on June 17 with 15 episodes and a trailer available on YouTube and audio streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts. With the platform, our mission is to foster a community of aftergrads (aspiring adults trying to find clarity and security in the postgrad moment) where transparent conversations around navigating adulthood and building careers driven by genuine passion are welcomed and encouraged. We want to encourage young people like us to be the CEOs of their life and career, never waiting for an opportunity but rather creating it for ourselves. These are a few of the tenets we promote on the show.
In the next phase of our journey, we plan to elevate the production value of The Aftergrad Podcast, and this requires investment in new equipment such as additional cameras, professional lighting, and studio props to edit, mix, and produce the show. We sincerely thank everyone who has taken the time to watch or listen to our show and support us with constructive feedback or words of encouragement.
After Season 1 wraps, we will be on hiatus for the Summer. Catch us in the Fall when you can tune into the show every other Friday wherever you listen to podcasts. See you there!
P.S. If you're class of 2022, congratulations and welcome to life, Aftergrad!
