The Bonsai Shed
The Bonsai Shed is a haven away from city life where the ancient art of bonsai is celebrated and shared with so many different people. A community has grown steadily and many people turned to Andy and the shed for advice and a reputable source for quality bonsai.
Andy Barber is a gifted Bonsai artist whose generosity and willingness to support others knows no bounds. His passion for bonsai is infectious and his knowledge and ability to teach has helped so many people of so many different levels. Andy started The Bonsai Shed from scratch, and built not only a beautiful place for bonsai, but a community. You can read more about Andy’s story here.
During the night on Thursday 16th July, a horrific fire caused permanent damage to the shed, and most of Andy’s prized collection perished. This is so heartbreaking for everyone around, we all know how much work Andy puts in to them all. Luckily, the fire brigade arrived at the scene and managed to save Andy’s many animals. Unfortunately, nearly all of Andy’s trees were lost in the blaze, including many 100+ year old, show trees. You can find a link to the news of the fire being reported here.

Many have benefitted greatly from Andy’s kindness and generosity, but, now is a time when the community can offer something back. As a small way of repaying all of his advice and hard work we have set up this page to help with any costs incurred by this catastrophic event. Please donate what you can with no donation too small. All money goes directly to the The Bonsai Shed, in order to help Andy in however he wishes to proceed.
