The Curry Twins
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Chris Curry my entire adult life for the most part. I’ve seen him reach all kinds of milestones in that time and vice-versa. I saw him become a dog-father, get married, buy his first house, etc. We’ve been through a lot in 15+ years... good and bad. He was there when I had my daughter almost 8 years ago. And then again when we were surprised with a pregnancy and the birth of my son. I don’t think Chris ever thought of being a father and simply resigned himself to being a kick-ass stepdad. Shortly after my wife and I found ourselves with our second on the way, Chris came into my office and told me he and Brandi were expecting. He was petrified but also excited. I could see the sparkle in his eye even in the midst of his “Oh $&@!” moment. Then he found out he was having twins which obviously magnified both of those initial reactions.
Ruby and Annabelle were born March 8th, 2019. Chris and Brandi were immediately in love, as any parent would be....but there was a problem. Annabelle was born with extensive issues with her digestive system, reproductive organs, hip, and a clubbed foot. It would require time in the NICU, multiple extensive surgeries, and prolonged stays in the hospital.
Annabelle has spend more of her little life in a hospital than outside one. During all this Chris stayed steadfast and committed to his work whenever he wasn’t by his families side. He never asked for anything... no money, no help. His attitude maintained what it always had been; one minute cranky, the next cracking jokes... what we have all come to expect from Curry and love him for. And he continued taking exceptional care of our clients whenever he could.
But now it’s time for US to do more. Annabelle is once again in the hospital fighting for her life, which this little Angel has already had to do many times thus far. She had to have emergency surgery today to remove her entire colon and has a machine basically acting as her heart and lungs so they can rest and try to heal from the infection her tiny body is trying to fight off.
I try not to ask for much but now I humbly request that if you know Chris (or don’t and simply feel inclined) to donate so that we can make his life just a little bit easier. Our goal is to help alleviate the burden of some finances during this extremely difficult time. We’re entering the holiday months and that is just going to make this period that much harder.
Please help us give back to someone who does so much for our AVDCI family and our customers. God bless. Be well, be safe.
Chris
