Update 7/19/23

The family is in greater need that I realized. Miki’s mother in law still holds the deed and there was no renters insurance.

Regardless of what insurance decides, the maximum on the landlord policy is $109K.
That is for the structure only.
With that being said, everyone will be displaced for an unknown amount of time. The RV/camper is still a temporary need at the house.

Long term rental property is needed for at least 4 adults.
Their life includes many dogs, cats, chickens, etc., so a farm would be the only option for their particular situation.
If anyone has anything available for rent with that in mind, please let me know. I realize that is like finding a needle in a haystack, but God has been right here with us every step of the way. I have faith someone has what they need available.

I wanted to update everyone.
Loads of clothing have been delivered and at this point we are able to pay that forward. Thanks to all who delivered those.

The next need looks to be disposable household items
Such as toilet paper, detergents, toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc.
Furniture as well.
If you would like to make a monetary donation in a different way, there’s now an account and it’s set up at commonwealth credit union. Please text me if you would like that info.

Thank you to everyone who has been supportive through this. You are appreciated more than you will ever know. I will continue to update as things progress. Still waiting on insurance. Hopefully we will know something by mid week.

There is a short term need for an RV to stay at the house.
I have contacted every company that sells those with no luck for any loaner or discount. It’s for a couple people at the max. No pets or smoking of course.

Thanks!

My sister and her family of 5 have lost their rental home to what the inspector confirmed was an electrical fire in the attic. Waiting to see if it’s a total loss. It’s devastating. This is the home where her husband Robert was raised. And for many years, it has been their family home. Luckily they were all home to make sure all animals got out. After the first responders left around 2 a.m, I only have 1 word, heartbreaking. They are being helped by the Red Cross, but are going to be displaced for a very long time. The damage is devastating. The loss is great. Along with 5 adults, they love lots of animals that are going to require funds to replace their supplies as well. From cats & dogs to a parakeet and bearded dragon and everything in between. It’s an older home so it’s unsafe to go in to get anything because of the asbestos being ripped out of the ceiling. Their story was unfortunately breaking news on LEX 18 at 11:00 last night. They are going to need to replace a lot of things that may not be covered by insurance, so anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated. I’ll attach what pictures I could get tonight and add more as the sun comes up. Thank you for reading this and don’t forget to hug your loved ones a little tighter.
