The Siren

 

My name is Jon Shai Van Sickle and this is a fundraiser for my next film The Siren (working title).

 

Story:

The Siren is a short film set on Lake Michigan where mysterious creatures lurk far beneath the rocky shores. Our main character Daniel finds himself living in his dying Grandfather's lighthouse. Daniel is young (10 years old) and curious like many boys his age. Despite his overbearing mother's best efforts, he explores his Grandfather's mysterious history and discovers unfathomable secrets hidden within the lighthouse walls. Mystery, danger, and intrigue are all words to describe The Siren.

 

Production:

Hell or high water, The Siren will be filmed in the summer of 2022. We are currently building a capable team of artists and filmmakers to bring this film to the screen. By the end of 2022, The Siren will be edited and on the festival circuit and shopped to production companies as a feature-length film.

 

Goals:

This short film is to be filmed and edited with the utmost quality and shopped to production companies as a "proof-of-concept" picture. Alongside the short film will be a feature-length version of the script for their consideration. Some of your favorite films have been financed this way including, Whiplash, Saw, District 9, Office Space, and THX1138.

 

Note from the director:

Without this funding, this film will still be made. Even if we reach or surpass our goal of $10,000 the amount will not reach even half of the funds placed into this project by me, Jon Shai Van Sickle. All of that to say, I have skin in the game. Nonetheless, this project couldn't exist without generous people like yourself. Creative people have already donated and exchanged hours and hours of work for this project. Thank you all.
