The "We Love Junie Blue" Fundraiser

Some of you may have heard already about the UNBELIEVABLE medical crisis the Howards are fighting now. Their precious Juniper Blue Howard “Junie Blue” complained to Alex and Laura about Headaches that started on Tuesday/Wednesday. She said they were in the top of her head.

Alex and Laura got Junie to the doc on Friday, he ordered an MRI, but they wouldn’t have gotten them scheduled until, at the earliest, sometime this week. Saturday, Junie woke up & said it felt worse, and she had quite a bit of nausea. They went back and forth on what to do because they were like….surely this is just headaches, not another brain tumor!!!

They promptly took Junie to the emergency department and demanded (nicely) a scan of her head.

So Saturday, they had a CT done, and yesterday they did an MRI and confirmed there is a tumor in Junie’s brain.

FROM ALEX and LAURA:

“There are several differences between her tumor and Norah’s - it appears to be a different type, it is in a different place that is operable as well.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, they will go in and resect as much of the tumor as they can and then run tests, so we will know exactly what it is.

Things to be grateful for:

1. The tumor is operable and it has not spread to her spine or anywhere else at this point

2. We have amazing doctors who care about us and are going to give Junie what she needs

3. We were able to go home Sunday night and sleep in our beds.

4. Currently, Junie is playing with her Grandma and is happy.

Prayer Requests (going to be several)

1. Pray for Laura and I to believe truth and not struggle to feel guilty or embarrassed.

2. Pray for the resection to be completely successful.

3. Pray against post op complications (there are a number of side effects that are possible with surgery in this location)

4. Pray that we can know how to connect with the Lord right now.

5. Pray for Andrew - just in general. He still has his own health issues and we want him to know he is loved and want him to thrive.

6. Pray for our friends and family - we just went through the unimaginable less than a year ago, and it feels fairly cruel that our tribe is having to go through something like this again - please pray for our people.”

Some awesomeness about Junie:

She just turned 4 on 4/22. Juniper Blue Howard is an Earth day baby! Haha!

She loves unicorns, mermaids, the color pink, hair bows, LOLs, surprise bags, (any kind of cutie toy) and Candy (not chocolate), vanilla ice cream, hash browns, potato egg and cheese tacos, waffles…

Her favorite movie right now is probably Encanto, Moana, frozen and Brave.

From me: This absolutely cannot be real. Please spread the word and love for the Howards as they continue to show us how to live and love in a world that seems wholly unlivable and unlovable.
