The York Rise Street Party 2023

Hello everybody!

We are heading towards our 18th free street festival - Sunday 10th September - when NW5 comes out and gets together and celebrates our amazing community.

This annual neighbourhood celebration is a strictly not for profit event, organised by a small team of volunteers.

Each year we have provided a platform for scores of people to share their passions, talents, and downright bravado!

This year, we have five main entertainment areas - The Bellgate and Park stages with live music, our new Cabaret and Theatre area, our outdoor cinema and the Dig It Sound System. Added to this, we have a dedicated children's section with way too many cool things to mention here, but look out for our circus skills theme for this year - we have both the incredible Revel Puck Circus team coming along to show you how you can run away and join them, and also the Roundhouse circus trainers coming along to share their skills. Another facet of this year's party is the space we are giving to a host of great causes - come and meet the charities, civic societies, green groups all working to make this a kinder world. Add to this supporting our independent local businesses, bringing neighbours together, putting on a vast range of music, and this time round marking the 75th anniversaries of both Windrush and the founding of the NHS... There is so much more to mention - but I don't want to bombard you!

One final, important point - any profit made, once the party has paid for itself (and everything is free on the day to guarantee equality of access) we give funds to an NW5 cause. In the past, we have bought the Kentish Town City Farm a new horse, paid to re-stock the children's library, supported an older persons lunch club, supported a local food bank, and much more! As costs have risen to make sure the party goes ahead, I'd be so grateful if you could find a few quid to help make this year's party as grand fun as ever.

If you can't spare any cash, we are always after volunteers and other help in kind... and regardless, please come on the day and enjoy yourselves at our splendid day out...
