Toddler's Battle against Lymphoma - Christian Kai
Donation protected
In the days leading up to Christmas, Christian, our sweet two-year old nephew was rushed to the hospital after his parents realized he was not able to see very well. After an emergency CT scan, the doctors found a brain tumor pressing on his optic nerve causing him to lose his vision. After a series of CTs and MRIs, cancer masses were also found in Christian’s kidneys and bones. After tumor biopsies were done, Christian, was diagnosed with stage IV Burkitt Lymphoma.
Luckily, outcomes after treatment for Burkitt Lymphoma are good, but Christian will have to spend the next 4-6 months receiving chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and he will also need time for him immune system to recover post-treatment. At this point in time, the total financial impact is not clear, but it is expected to be around 60K after insurance.
No parent deserves or is prepared to watch their young child fight cancer, much less have to worry about how to cover the financial burden his care over the next few months will take. This fundraiser is to help Christian’s parents, Samantha and Andrew Gerber, focus on Christians healing. We would be grateful for any help given to Christian and his family.
For those of you who are unable to give monetarily, please keep Christian in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you!
