Tori's Drive for Change

 Hi, my name is Tori Harrison, a prospective Dental student in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Jamaica has fewer than 1 dentist per 100,000 population, compared to the US and Canada at nearly 7 dentists per 100,000. This results in significant oral health challenges, particularly among the less affluent. It is my dream and passion to help alleviate this situation. I have been fortunate and it is an honour being selected as one of the few to study Dentistry at the University of the West Indies starting in September 2022. However, the tuition, which is not subsidized by the government, is $28,000 US dollars per annum and is proving a challenge for my parents and me. A partial payment of $15,000 US or more is required to be paid by the end of August 2022.
