Tough Times For All. I'm a single dad of 2 kids!

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Philip but I prefer to go by Phil.

I'm 36yo My daughter is 13 years old and my son is 12 years old who autistic.

I was told by a fellow friend @Momofsmi that I should make a GofundMe for the situation that I'm in and that a lot of us are as well. I normally don't like doing this sort of stuff since I always have done things on my own for my self and along with my 2 wonderful kids.

{Example} I've walked in blizzards when my kids were younger, 2 miles round trip to a store in order to 5 gallons of kerosene that I used in the oil tank so that my kids would-be warm for a few days, and I did that until it started to get warmer outside.

I'm really struggling with this COVID-19 situation. I'm not working at all, very high risk of getting the virus due to underlining medical conditions that I have. I'm worried about being evicted from our place since I'm behind on the past rent, I can't have my kids to be on the streets. I have always done everything I can for my kids no matter how I had to make that happen so this is hard for me asking for a little help. Even after their mother walked out on us when Emily was 2 years old and my son was only 1 year old to go down a bad path of drugs then abandoned them outright. So I was granted full custody from the courts for them both, and I don't receive any child support from her since she hasn't ever worked after she left us.

I'm worried deadly about having my kids go back to school in a few weeks alone, even with them being at low risk they still can bring the virus back home from someone not showing symptoms (A Temp scan doesn't mean you are not carrying it).

Their school wants to do 2 days in person and 3 days of remote learning /homeschooling. I'm getting so far behind on bill's that I don't know what I should part with, and if they want to them to stay at home for remote learning we need Wifi for that and I'm 100% sure it will be getting shut off before my children go back to school on Sept. 3rd so without wifi they can't even do the remote learning, even if I choose to allow them to go back in person. That's not even my mentioning that all of that will make it really hard for my son's autism.

(Internet companies in my area aren't allowing free wifi for kids anymore, that ended last school year)

I'm still unsure of having them even do their school's plan since I don't know where other parents have taken their children over the summer and having my kids potentially bringing the virus back to me, even if they are at low risk I'm still worried about their safety. Their school is talking about getting stuff set up for Zoom live sessions which I'm just not sure when that will be weeks to a month and that's something I'd feel ALOT more comfortable with but goes back to the Wifi with it being shut off soon.

So what do I wait for that to happen where I feel safer setting up the potential chance that I'll have DHS called on me due to the truancy law? Just for wanting to keep us safe during a pandemic?

Car starter went almost a month ago, which doesn't matter anyway now since I don't have the money to register/insure or put gas in it.  Who know's how long it will be until a second stimulus check gets approved. Once that is passed I will be better off, but until than everything is just stress and a mess every day. But I keep positive for my kids!

After my father passed away [Not COVID] on May 17th of this year I don't have anyone to reach out for advice or help in matters of dire need. That's been hard on my family as well.
LOVE YOU DAD, KIDS AND I MISS YOU RIP

Thank you for your time to even read about our situation.
I greatly appreciate just that alone.

I hope everyone stays safe during these challenging times that we all face right now!

Sincerely,
Phil and Fam <3
