Translate "The Wild Edge of Sorrow" into Hebrew
Donation protected
In Israel today, the community of trauma trained therapists and grief workers is very small. There are also very limited books, podcasts and movies in Hebrew and Arabic about grief and trauma. Considering the terrible impact of the current events, it is critical to provide support for the translation and creation of content about grief as possible.
I am a Jewish-American woman who lived in Israel and Palestine for fifteen years working on human rights. Before October 7th, my dear friend, writer, translator and grief worker, Ronnie Gross, was working to get Francis Weller’s masterpiece on grief, “The Wild Edge of Sorrow” published in Hebrew. She secured the rights to translate the book and a publishing house in Israel. She did not secure any funds for the cost of her translation work.
Since October 7th, amidst her personal grief and loss, Ronnie has been translating the book despite having no funds for the translation and no employment of her own. She has also been providing grief support to many families of hostages and survivors of the October 7th attacks and helping international activists deliver aid to hostage survivors and Gazans.
She needs our support to continue her work providing grief care and to finish the translation of the book as soon as possible.
