Car needed for Dan Leahy

Hello my name is Rhonda and I wanted to find a way to help my friend Dan Leahy out by making this go fund me page. Hopefully we can aide him some in the cost of a new car, and tell his story about his horrible accident and how he survived it all.
My friend Dan was driving back from a delivery around 1:30 -2 am in Woodstock, IL Christmas Eve at the end of that winter storm we had. As he was driving around the curve near the tracks his car started to break loose and slide into the opposite side of the road just as a minivan was coming towards him. To avoid hitting the minivan he swerved across a patch of grass and ended up on the train tracks exactly when a train was coming towards him. There was no way he could get his car off the tracks at this point.
He did however manage to get out of the car, trying to get to a safe distance away. The train hit the back end of his car and the car was tossed towards Dan. Because he was not far enough away from the train and car, the car ended up hitting him. Or something from the car may have hit him, he isnt even 100% sure. The EMTs told him that he was thrown 30 feet and he hit the concrete, and is lucky to be alive. He was unconscious at first and the flight for life chopper was necessary to take him to Libertyville (closest trauma unit) hospital. He then awoke and was talking in the helicopter as that was when the EMTs told him what happened. They said they could not believe how responsive he was after this incident. At the hospital he underwent a bunch of tests and they wouldn’t let him walk for the first few days. He needed nurses to help him move around in the bed. He was in the hospital by himself on Christmas Day, we did go to visit him and phone calls were made from other friends to wish him a Merry Christmas.
Luckily Dan has no broken bones, is able to walk and is home healing now. He will be out of work for at least 3 weeks. What a miracle this was.
Because he only had collision on his car, he won't get reimbursed through insurance for the car. Please share this as much as possible.
