Ukrainian Refugees in Broomfield
Donation protected
Meet our family from Ukraine. They escaped to Poland from the devastating and unjustified Russian Invasion and are here now in Broomfield. Ukrainian families do not receive any federal support dollars and rely solely on host family fundraising.
With us now is Aunt Olga is 64, Svetlana 42 and Alex 50, and they have four children, Vadim 17, Nazar 13, and 3 year old twins Yan and Damir.
They left everything behind.... their homes, their jobs and their community, took a long journey via train to Poland, walked for miles to cross Polish border and were staying at a refugee center in Poznan Poland.
Many other families have made long journeys across the Ukraine into Poland by dark trains for safety and no promise they can return safely.
We are a small community of Ukrainians and US citizens who are working everyday to find help and resources from private and non-profit organizations however these attempts have had a very small outcome as US even though promised to welcome Ukrainian refugees with open arms, have NOT done anything to back that promise up as of yet.
The frustrating part is that they are not eligible for temporary resettlement services because the federal government hasn't given them "Temporary Protective Status" (TPS) so they rely entirely on family and community support.
Your financial support means we can pay the large fees (an example is $500 for even ONE work permit) so they can start working, housing security, basic necessities, and attend ESL classes.
Please join us in supporting this family and please share to your networks.
