United Against Hatred on Sikh Men
Donation protected
Around 10pm on August 3, our father Avtar Singh was viciously attacked by two young assailants while walking by Harvey Park in Fremont, CA. Our father is an elderly Sikh man who suffered head lacerations, orbital bone fracture, bloody nose, black eye, and a concussion from the attack. Thankfully, residents heard the attack, came to help, and contacted 911. Our father, in shock and confusion, left the scene to return home. We found our father at the door bloody, bruised, and beaten, missing his turban and house keys. Because of the concussion, he was unable to tell us what happened or even where it happened. We called the police and he was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Our father is recovering from his physical injuries but dealing with mental trauma. This fundraiser will help to cover any medical costs and living expenses as he has been unemployed and looking for work. He had an interview lined up that had to be postponed because of the attack.
Even more valuable than money would be information/evidence on the attack. Given the severity of his injuries and being a Sikh man, we believe our father is a victim of a hate crime and not just a robbery.
If you know anything of the attack, please contact Fremont Police Department at:

We want justice for our father and to show these senseless hate crimes against Sikh men will not go unpunished!
Finally, we’d like to thank our incredible neighbors who helped our father during and after the attack. We’d like to thank our friends, community members, Fremont officials, the police, and everyone who has reached out with help and support. We could not have dealt with this senseless and violent attack without you.
