Our beloved son Ryan Wesley Hobot passed away unexpectedly in an auto accident on January 16, 2020 at the age of 22 years.  Ryan graduated and received diplomas from both Eagan High School and the ISD #196 School of Environmental Studies in Apple Valley as a Class of 2015 graduate.  Ryan is also a graduate of the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps - Twin Cities Squadron and was discharged with honors on September 1, 2015 for honorably serving the highest traditions of the United States Navy, United States Coast Guard and the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps at the rank of Airman, E-3.  Younger, Ryan was a member of Cub Scout Pack #445 in Eagan, MN. from kindergarten through 5th grade.  After completing Webelos and earning the Arrow of Light Award, Ryan joined Boy Scout Troop #345 also in Eagan and earned the rank of Star Scout.  In 10th grade, Ryan wanted more of a challenge than the Boy Scouts could offer.  Ryan enlisted in the United States Naval Sea Cadets until graduation.  Through the Twin Cities Squadron and their dedicated Officers and leadership, Ryan learned the basics of Naval Aviation.  He earned ribbons and certificates for 1st Class Swimming, a Plank Owner's Award for completing the first USNSCC 097 Recruit Training Prep Course at Camp Ripley, MN.  He served the Honor Guard Unit of his Squadron and participated in the "Pearl Harbor Day" services proudly carrying the US Navy flag at the Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel.  After completing USNSCC Recruit Training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes and earning his 2013 Honors Division Ribbon at Great Lakes.  He earned the Expert Ribbon and pin for USNSCC Marksmanship Training at Camp Ripley with the MN National Guard and MN Naval Reserve completing the NRA Basic Rifle Course and competing in CMP Sanctioned Matches and also earning the National Physical Fitness Ribbon.  Ryan completed advanced aviation trainings with the MN Air Nation Guard on C-130's, and Black Hawk Helicopters.  Ryan earned his Navy Shipboard Anchor and Ribbon aboard the USS Essex LDH-2 at sea deploying out of Seattle, WA. while also carrying banner for the LTCMDR of the Northwest Pacific Fleet and participating with a friend and JrCPO from his Squadron at Fleetweek Seattle while assisting at the US Navy Blue Angles Air Show in Seattle.  Ryan completed his advanced training at the Petty Officer Leadership Academy in Pensacola, FL. while taking advanced trainings in Air Traffic Control.  He would have graduated in May of 2020 with a degree to become an electrician at the Summit Academy OIC in Minneapolis.  He was also working with a recruiter and trainer to join the MN Army National Guard after graduation.  The proceeds of the "Go Fund Me" campaign will help fund a trust for annual scholarship donations to the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps - Twin Cities Squadron 097 and will help and support other youth interested in Naval Seamanship and advanced aviation trainings all over the United States of America.  His hobbies include camping, fishing, photography, playing the guitar, shooting sports and black-powder marksmanship, golfing with grandpa, archery, track, drama, aviation and physics, bugs and chameleons and bearded dragon lizards and orange cats and all good creatures and things that God created and put on the Heavens and Earth.  God bless our son.

"Day is done, gone the sun from the lake,
from the hill from the sky.

All is well, safely rest.  God is nigh.

Thanks and praise for our days 'neath the
sun, 'neath the stars, 'neath the sky.

As we go, this we know.  God is nigh".
