Pop-up Health Clinic & Community Church Building

My name is Mildred Johnson Bundu-Kamara.Together with my family, friends and colleagues, we are raising money for a Pop-up Health Clinic in Sierra Leone and church building for Wisdom Sanctuary, by holding a boat racing event on Saturday 19th August 2023.

I have chosen to fundraise for both, because, as a healthcare professional, I am passionate about improving the lives of people through access to healthcare and social activities. I am committed to supporting vulnerable and under privileged communities in Sierra Leone with basic and essential healthcare. The Pop-up Clinic has been an effective way of reaching out and providing free screening and treatments. See videos of last year’s operations and feedback from donor recipients.    

 
Wisdom Sanctuary is a Christian organisation, established 10 years ago and has been intentional to serving the needs of the multi-racial communities in Sydenham, London. Having their own building and premises will greatly advance their social activities including accommodating people through social prescribing. This is where patients are referred by their GPs to spend time in nature or engage with local communities, in a bid to improve their health. Over 2 million patients in the Uk to date have been referred for social prescribing. With their own premises, Wisdom Sanctuary could provide non- clinical activities like gardening, art, cooking, singing and dancing classes etc to members of the communities to support their wellbeing.
