Financial Literacy Non-Profit Start-Up

My name is Claire McDonnell and I am completing my Masters of Finance at the University of Iowa. I am working on founding a non-profit to promote financial literacy, and need your help to cover the start-up costs associated with this organization. COVID-19 has put a huge financial strain on American individuals, families, and individuals, and people need help with their finances more than ever.
Through my time as an undergraduate and graduate student, and as an analyst with GreenState, I realized the corporate finance world wasn’t for me. In my analyst role, I quickly realized well over the majority of loans I was approving were for white men and women. I then began my what is now lifelong personal journey on trying to learn and understand why the median White family has 41 times more wealth than the median Black family and 22 times more wealth than the median Latino family, and what needs to be done to work towards closing those wealth gaps.
I am now in the early stages of founding a non-profit aimed at promoting financial literacy. Below are the (working) mission and value statements:
Mission – Our mission is to empower the underrepresented through financial literacy, to create a more educated and inclusive economy.
Vision - FinancED envisions a world where the underrepresented that experience the weight of the wealth disparity are empowered to take control of wealth for themselves, their families, and their businesses to create a more inclusive economy that is representative of the diversity in this country.
The funds for this Go-Fund-Me will be used to cover start-up costs associated with starting this organization, including but not limited to, legal costs, accounting costs, technology costs, education costs, and other misc. start-up costs.
