"Welcome To Plattsburgh” The Lake City Mural

It takes a village to paint the town! We need your help!

Please consider a donation to our 18th mural celebrating the “Lake City.” The mural will be located at 103 Margaret Street, in Downtown Plattsburgh, NY (the wall next to Aleka's) and will be STARTING SOON and will be completed by early July 2023.

The “Welcome to Plattsburgh” mural will serve as a “gateway” to Downtown Plattsburgh and will involve multiple artists and children in the community. The mural will celebrate “The Lake City” and will feature a scene of the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain to be painted by renowned local artists, Andrew McGill and Giovanina Bucci in the style of a vintage postcard. The mural will have text that includes, “Welcome to Plattsburgh, The Lake City.”

We are asking local businesses, supporters, and art lovers for donations

at all levels large and small. Sponsor a “boat” for $500, a “fish” for $250, a “plant” for $100, or a “rock" for $25, or donate at any level. All money stays local and goes to artists, materials, and community events. We are also seeking "in-kind" donations of supplies and equiptment.

More information about Outside Art: Plattsburgh Public Art Project: We are a community organization that produces and creates public art for Plattsburgh. Outside Art works with local, regional, and national artists to animate public space with the goal of building community and making Plattsburgh a destination for art and a place for artists to settle and create. Founded by artist activists Julia Devine and Amy Guglielmo in January 2016, Outside Art has produced 16 murals in downtown Plattsburgh. They have blazed a trail for public art acceptance in the region.
