Wellness Recovery Action Plan for Topeka

Donation protected
Hello, I am being offered an AMAZING opportunity to be a trained facilitator of the WRAP, Wellness Recovery Action Plan. This is the peer-led mental health program that saved my life back in 2004-5! I will be able to offer this as a FREE class here in Topeka, Kansas. I am asking for help funding the $399 to attend this training through Advocates for Human Potential, Inc.
My vision is that WRAP is available to ANYONE living with mental health symptoms including the homeless. The tools I learned in this program have assisted me in the times I did not have access to other treatment options over the years.
The family friendly version of my story as of (actually 10 years ago) after taking WRAP, Peer Employment Training & then working for RI International, (Recovery Innovations):

About WRAP from www.wellnessrecoveryactionplan.com...
"Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a simple and powerful process for creating the life and wellness you want. With WRAP, you can:
  • Discover simple, safe, and effective tools to create and maintain wellness.
  • Develop a daily plan to stay on track with your life and wellness goals.
  • Identify what throws you off track and develop a plan to keep moving forward.
  • Gain support and stay in control even in a crisis.
The WRAP process supports you to identify the tools that keep you well and creating action plans to put them into practice in your everyday life. All along the way, WRAP helps you incorporate key recovery concepts and wellness tools into your plans and your life.
The five key concepts are at the core of WRAP:
Hope. The belief is that we can get well, stay well, and go on to fulfill our dreams and goals.
Personal responsibility. It’s up to each of us to take action and do what needs to be done to stay well.
Education. Learning all we can about what we are experiencing helps us make good decisions about all parts of our lives.
Self-advocacy. Reaching out to others and expressing our needs helps us get what we need, want, and deserve to support our wellness and recovery.
Support. Receiving support from others, and giving support, will help us feel better and enhance our quality of life."

Thank you so much for letting me share!
