Whitney Got Hit By A Car

Hi. As many of you know, I got hit by a car the day before Halloween. Not hit while driving -- hit on the right side of my body by a car that was driving full speed through a cross walk.

I am SO LUCKY that I was not injured worse. The injury that remains is my run over foot, which initially seemed like bad bruising but is apparently a more serious injury than we'd previously thought. 

6/29/20 Update: Thank you, thank you to everyone who donated and TRIPLED my original fundraising goal. I was and am blown away by the response. Here's what's happened since my April update:

• Foot -- fractured, torn ligaments -- is still painful but much improved, comparatively
• I am wearing very soft shoes and indoor foam boot instead of the cumbersome CAM boot 24/7
• Second MRI last week -- had to be paid out of pocket

Unfortunately, although the broken foot saga began last October, my personal injury case is still ongoing and slowed down by the pandemic, so I've received $0 from the insurance company. Since a lot of people have asked how they can help, I'll be honest -- money would help! I'm going to do a stretch goal of $1k because I have had to pay medical expenses out of pocket.

Thank you to friends and family who have dropped off groceries, offered to run errands, and sent us money. I know it's a hard time for everybody so we are so grateful.
