Winn Family Financial Relief

Hi, My name is Shelby. On July 29th my best friend fell hard and cut her leg while we were floating the River at Big Springs. She was taken by ambulance to Madison Memorial where they stitched up the leg and sent her on her way with a week's worth of pain killer and antibiotics and told her to come back in two weeks to get the stitches removed. Within a few days the leg began to discolor and swell. Eventually the tissue began to darken and ooze, and by Saturday the swelling and pain were so bad she couldn't take the pain anymore. Matt, her husband rushed her to the EIRMC Emergency room. Within a few hours, she was undergoing surgery to remove the dead tissue that had taken root in her leg caused from necrotizing fasciitis. She spent judt over a week in the ICU/Burn unit and has undergone two surgeries so far. We are unsure how many more it will take to reconstruct her leg. The road ahead is going to be long, her recovery time unknown, and her time out of work is also unknown. This unfortunate situation has put the Winn family, who depends on two incomes, in a huge financial bind for monthly living expenses. We are looking into financial assistance but they could really use any extra help they can get to alleviate stress, hardships, and the uncertainty of the future ahead.
