Channing tongue Cancer expense fund
Donation protected
This is my one and only brother, Channing. Last year 2014 he was diganosed with stage 4 tongue cancer. The doctors chose to just do radiation and chemo in the fall. He lost more than 50 pounds. Had to have a feeding tube inserted, since he can't eat or drink by mouth, or even swallow his own slivia. It hurts too much. For the next few months after many tests, they kept telling him he was cancer free. But the pain was still there, and still couldn't eat or drink anything by mouth. The tongue continued to be swolled and stiff and very painful. Then just 2 weeks ago they told him the cancer was back or it was never gone in the first place. He now has to have all lower teeth removed in order to have the total tongue removed. It will be a 12 hour operation with a 2 week hospital stay after the surgery and possible assisted care stay it there's any complications. Then there will be rehabilitation therapy to learn how to eat and speak again.
He has been unable to work since treatments started last fall. Bills are accumulating fast.
It will cost approx $5,000 for the teeth removal.
$26,000 for anesthesia.
$10.000 for dentures
They haven't even gotten the bills yet for Chemo and radiation yet.
He has a wife Susan and 5 year old son Jacob who are depending on his recovery. Please help put this smile back on his face.
