Remington's Surgery

Hi, my name is Dori, and this is my fur baby Remington. I got Remington as a puppy when I was 17 years old. She has been there with me to finish out high school, college, and even starting my first full time job. She has also been there through some of the darkest times in my life. I know it might sound cliché to say a dog has saved you, but I can assure you she has saved me. She is the sassiest most loyal dog, and I honestly could not imagine my life without her in it.

On Sunday 02/25/2024 I was playing with Remington when I noticed some abnormal lumps on her stomach. That following Wednesday I took her to the vet where she was diagnosed with mammary tumors which is essentially breast cancer for dogs. She has three tumors in total at this moment and with each tumor comes a 50/50 chance of it being benign or malignant however with how fast they showed up and grew the vet is almost certain that it is malignant. She has to be spayed to remove the hormones which aide in the growth of these types of tumors, has to have the tumors themselves removed and has to have her mammary glands removed in the areas where the tumors are currently to insure all of each tumor is removed. The vet is also going to do a chest X-ray before surgery to see if it has metastasized to other areas.

The surgery Remington needs is extremely expensive and extensive and will cost around $1250. The surgery is scheduled for March 14th, 2024. At this point I have no idea how I am going to pay for it as things have been very rough for me lately financially which is why I decided to make a GoFundMe. Asking for money from others is never something I like to do but I promised Remington I would not give up on her and would make this surgery happen somehow. With that being said I would be so very grateful for absolutely anything you can afford to donate to help Remington get the surgery she needs to continue to live out the rest of her days a happy, healthy, very loved fur baby.
