Mother of Four Needs Your Help
Donation protected
Yasmil is a mother of four, registered nurse, and graduate nursing student. Her children, aged 7 months to 8 years, are all wonderful children and have been well provided for. Between studying and working a full-time job, Yasmil stays busy with the children's piano lessons, tae kwon do, and other responsibilities.
Yasmil and her 3 older children
She spent several days this past week posted at her Houston hospital providing care for patients during the Harvey disaster, separated from her children and family while her children stayed with their father.

Yasmil returned home after nearly 3 days of sleeping at the hospital only to find over 3 feet of water had consumed her apartment. Nearly all of her clothing items, toys, toiletries, and even sentimental items such as drawings and crafts by her children and school photos are unsalvageable. After days spent on a cot, she does not even have a bed to crawl in to.
the crew to clean out the apartment aftermath
I am a friend and co-worker of Yasmil's, and several of us went to her home after we were released from the hospital and helped her salvage what we could. As we stepped along the blistered and soggy floors of her apartment collecting clothes to wash that weren't ruined, I was reminded how incredibly strong she is and how amazing of a mother she is. She is not one to ask for help, but at this time she truly needs it.
We are asking if you can help us with any donation you can to help her get back on her feet and make sure her children have what they need as the school year starts up again. This money will go towards clothes, food, school supplies, toiletries, linens, toys, and other supplies necessary for daily living as well as helping her to secure a new home, ideally soon as her children need a place to stay ASAP with the school year. Thank you for your help and may you be blessed.
