Bone and Body Clinic & Training Centre, Manipur

We are starting this campaign for two extraordinary people who have given their lives to helping others.  We are part of that large and ever-growing group who have benefited from their skill, kindness, and generosity and are forever grateful for Ringo, Miranda and the Bone and Body Clinic.  Now we would like to help them, and by helping them, we believe we are helping all the people who will have the opportunity to benefit from the birth of their dream - The Bone and Body Clinic and Training Centre, Manipur.

If you are unfamiliar with the work of Ringo and Miranda and would like to know more about the Bone and Body Clinic, please see their website  at boneandbodyclinic.com.

A little background:  Ringo and Miranda have been conducting Bone and Body Clinics in India, France, UK, and Portugal for the last ten years. They started in a small house in Nagasem (India), where they had one room, one bathroom, and a five-person stretch room. There they treated everything from scoliosis to slipped discs and digestive disorders, and they found that the Manipuri techniques Ringo uses and adapts are successful in treating so many of these conditions, often where conventional medicine failed.

The clinic has grown simply by word of mouth because people change at the clinic. We changed at the clinic and are so inspired by the life-altering work that happens here and by Ringo and Miranda’s vision and capacity to heal that we find ourselves always wanting to help them so they can help more people.

They have always rented their clinic spaces, which limits what they can offer as well as being a growing financial drain.  They have had a dream for years to go back to Manipur, Ringo’s birthplace and the source of the treatment systems they use, to establish a full-service treatment and training centre.

In Manipur, they will be able to offer long-term in-patient care for those with more serious conditions; they will also be able to bring more masters and practitioners together to collaborate on different conditions; they will have the capacity to expand their use of natural medicines, as well as grow and make them themselves. And, closest to their hearts, they will train the next generation so that the Manipuri arts survive and continue to help more people in more ways.

Two years ago, some kind friends helped them start this process by making a generous donation toward their first piece of land, which was part of a larger piece owned by different members of a family. (Ringo is on the land now with Aka and Nauba, starting to plant and build.) At the time of the first purchase, the owners of the adjacent pieces of land were unwilling to sell unless Ringo and Miranda could come up with the full cost upfront. They could not.

Last week, Ringo got a call from the owners of the two adjacent pieces of land. They are in need of cash and have given Ringo and Miranda an offer to pay a portion now ($25,000) and the rest in the future.  The urgency of this GoFundMe campaign is because the offer is based on the sale being completed by 25th June.

Normally Ringo and Miranda would be busy treating people at the Dharmasala clinic right now.  But because of COVID-19 restrictions they were not able to open. They are continuing to pay staff and rent (and feed an army of animals), and because of this they don’t have the amount needed to complete the sale by 25th June, nor can they qualify for a loan, as they don’t know when they will be able to work next.

We all feel this is an opportunity that is not to be missed and that buying this land is an important part of the overall vision for the Manipur clinic. These adjacent pieces are crucial because they will enable Ringo and Miranda to build a proper, full-service centre. It will give them access to their own water supply, space to build in-patient accommodation and grow more food and medicine, room to rescue some of the polo ponies, and also prevent others from developing on top of them.

We understand that with the changes and restrictions stemming from COVID19 policies, this is a hard and uncertain time for most people. The time is not ideal to do a crowdfunding campaign, but if enough people help out, we believe we can reach the goal of $25,000 before the deadline.

If you know Miranda and Ringo, you know how generous they are. They would much rather keep giving than ask for help. That is why we are asking. Without Ringo and Miranda, our lives, the state of our health and wellbeing, would be very different. We would like to give something back.

If you have the capacity at this time to contribute to making this vision a reality for Ringo, Miranda and all the future patients and practitioners of the Manipur Clinic, we believe they will create something truly great. Sometimes people think that giving $5 or $10 is too small but it is not, every bit helps, especially if we all do what we can! You can also help by sharing this campaign with family and friends or on social media.   Please remember the deadline to make this happen is 25th June so there is no time to waste!

Thank you all in advance for your good wishes and support and we hope we can invite you all to Manipur soon!

Sincerely,
