4 1/2 year old Damian Creed lost his battle with metastatic retinoblastoma November 5, 2016, after fighting for 2 1/2 years. Damian underwent high dose systemic chemo, low-dose chemo, interarterial chemo, stem cell transplant, proton radiation, removal of the left eye, multiple transfusions, too many hospital stays to list, among many other things. In his four short years, Damian showed more love and compassion than anyone I have ever met, and taught everyone he met what love truly is. His superpowers were love and bringing people together. He always had a smile on his face.
I'm honoring Damian's legacy by starting a foundation in his name. I deliver "Superhero Packs" to inpatient kids on the oncology units of our local hospitals. I'd like to expand and make it to many more hospitals. I have also "adopted" 4 families this year for Christmas, all have a child currently fighting cancer. In the future, I would also like to expand to help families with monetary support, as I know how hard it is to try and make ends meet while your child is fighting for their life. Thank you for continuing to support Team Damian and help me carry on his legacy.
