The FfolkyFfelt Workshop Wagon!

Donation protected

Hello there! Thank you for reading about and supporting my Workshop Wagon project.

My name is Emma, and my aim is to develop my creative, therapeutic and educational workshops, and reach even more people. The funds raised would be used to purchase felt making resources and help towards buying a Workshop Wagon, which would enable me to have all the resources, materials and a mobile magical atmosphere, all in one place.

There will be an all-weather mini-marquee that would run out from the side of the Wagon, so that the particpants would be close to the resources, the workshop kitchen for refreshments, as well lots of elbow room for getting creative.

I plan to take it to hard-to-reach people & unusual places. Making felt uses all the senses and learning styles, engages people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, develops motor and social skills and encourages participants to use ancient skills with a modern twist. Wool is versatile, sustainable, and a lot of fun!

I have friends & family who will be offering their support in time and skills to help me with any necessary conversions to the Workshop Wagon.

The Wagon will be a reliabe form of transport, enabling me to fulfil my aim; to create along-term lagacy for this project.

It will carry my stock, my workshop materials, tables, chairs and marquee; it will transport me between projects and workshop venues, and provide a familiar and welcoming environments for the participants.

I thrive from working with people, and from facilitating learning, making it fun and relevant. I am a qualified tutor, I used to teach literacy, life skills and craft classes for groups of mainstream and learning needs students, in local colleges, the community and schools, until I was diagnosed with cancer. During my treatments, I returned to my creative roots - and was introcuded to the idea of felt-making. I had previously worked with photography and printmaking, but instantly fell in love with the tactile and versatile medium of wool.

I work from my cottage studio, making commissions, running workshops in various locations (but can never find enough suitable places to keep up with demand, hence my Wagon idea), and taking part in Shows and Exhibitions. I would like to return the benefits and healing I found with using my native wools, and help others too. I will be including the elderly and isolated; homeless or vulnerable young people; vulnerable women and children; those with language barriers; those facing marginal disadvantages.

I LOVE working as a felt & fibre artist , and sharing that enjoyment with others - to see the type of things we could be making, please visit
www.ffolkyffelt.com or my facebookpage Ffolkyffelt, which will provide you with some ideas and hopefully
some inspiration!

Many thanks for all your support. This project is in honour of all those who battle with hardships in life, and proof that good things can be found in the darkest of times. Let us keep that legacy going forward for others too.
