Guardians for Zei

Zei and her family are in need of guardians, those of us who are able to protect, preserve, and safeguard one of our own. In late October, Zei was hospitalized with respiratory distress and after a few days of testing that provided few answers, she was flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She has become progressively dependent on even more oxygen and is now on ventilator support. In her 15 years of life, Zei has never struggled with illness. Chronic respiratory illness, though, is not new to Zei and her family. Zei’s younger sister lives with a chronic respiratory disease, so keeping up with life while toting an oxygen tank is not new for them.

We are asking you to not only surround Zei with your prayers, but to also appreciate that life and its costs do not pause. Unfortunately, this situation is extraordinary and demands even more than Zei’s mother, Brie, is able to provide while at her daughter’s side and not with her two other children, the youngest of who is on oxygen support at home. Reality is that money is necessary in life, and our hope is that we can provide financial preservation in Zei’s time of need so that Brie can focus on her family.

Shower them with your Grace, ease the pain of their body, mind, and spirit. Let our faith bring forth answers, guide the medical staff in providing healing, open airways for Zei to breathe, and continue to comfort and inspire through your Love.”
