Help bring our beloved Shelby home

July 4th, Jackson’s 5th birthday we were camping in the sierras and drove into town for the 4th of July parade. When we returned, a family member had let Shelby out of her box in our trailer to go potty and she got out of her collar and took off into the mountains. The next 7 days have been a nightmare. Nearly everyday she has been spotted. We have EACH hiked 10-15 miles a day in the sun looking and searching until we couldn’t keep our eyes open. We are homesick, burned, blistered bug bitten and exhausted emotionally and physically. Shelby has been spotted from afar several times by many campers and hikers but hasn’t come down far enough to hear or see us. We have taken all the time we can off work, 5 days extra days each so far and have exhausted all of our money and PTO. Justin works 80-100 hrs a week and I work 60 usually. We had to pay for campsite an extra week, water, food, gas, dumping our trailer, bug spray, sun block which are all over priced at the local store plus nearly $2k in missed work. We had to try to to find our baby and are not giving up yet.We have to return to work but need help to catch up on all the funds we didn’t have to begin with and to make the trip or trips back to get her.Justin and I never ask for help for ourselves but we need to return to bring our baby home. Anyone close to us knows Shelby is like our child, she is our happiness, our life besides our boys and we need her home. Anything helps, and we are truly grateful. This has been the most heartbreaking experience and we need support through this. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Justin and Sara Scott
