Jeff Welker Wellness Center
Join the Roxana Community School District in making a difference. We're raising money to renovate our old weight room and transform it into the Jeff Welker Wellness Center for students, staff and community members. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this endeavor and for keeping Jeff Welker's legacy alive.

Our Shared History and Vision
The Roxana School District has a rich history. The original construction for what is now a part of our existing high school was completed in 1941. The high school district was called the Roxana School District 156. The current Roxana Community Unit School District No. 1 was designated in 1950 as a merger of school districts 103, 105, and 156 and was the first consolidated unit district in Madison County. RCUSD No. 1 now serves students at South Primary, Central Intermediate, Roxana Junior High, and Roxana High School. Buildings have changed and grade levels reorganized, but the district's vision to serve students and the community has never changed.
The Roxana School District is extremely fortunate. We have highly qualified and dedicated staff who are united in our vision of Achieving Excellence with Passion, Pride, and Partnership. We believe all students can learn in a caring environment where education addresses the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of all learners.
In the past ten years the district has focused on improving facilities. The following are some of the projects: new JH/HS cafeteria, new pre-k center, new JH gymnasium, air conditioning in all schools, auditorium renovation, office renovations to improve school safety, locker room renovations, new gymnasium floors, baseball field renovation, new all weather track, new tennis courts, new bus canopy, new student and guest parking lots, bus turnarounds, new field lighting, exterior lighting, landscape and paint. The district is committed to providing students with an optimal learning environment and facilities that foster pride in our community. The vision for a wellness center was one that Coach Welker brought to administration in 2013. After working diligently to address a prioritized project list, it is time to see Coach Welker's vision become a reality.
Coach Welker was a transformational influence in the lives of students, staff, and families in our community. This fundraising campaign provides an opportunity to be a part of a lasting tribute to someone whose life exemplifies what it means to be a Shell.
