Support the Lakota Waldorf School
Donation protected
Our Goal
While foundation grants help to underwrite a large portion of the school’s budgeted line item for salaries (roughly $200,000), they do not cover all of it. We ask for your support to help meet the shortfall of $12,500. This will ensure that our faculty will continue to provide a Waldorf education imbued in the culture and language of the Lakota Sioux to our students. In addition, your charitable contributions will help subsidize the costs of sending our faculty to receive Waldorf training, critically needed for their ongoing support and professional development.
Who We Are
The Lakota Waldorf School is a Native American 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are located on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in the Medicine Root District, Kyle, South Dakota.
Why Our School Needs Your Help
The children who attend our school come from the most impoverished communities in the United States. They face incredible challenges in their daily lives and the Lakota Waldorf School serves as a place where these young people can learn in a safe, nurturing environment.
We Provide
The school provides bus transportation, two warm, organic meals, plus afternoon snack. Since the families cannot afford tuition, each child attends our school free of charge. To cover all expenses your donation is needed, and deeply appriciated.
Our Mission Statement
Our mission of the Lakota Waldorf School is to provide a Waldorf Education integrated with Lakota language & culture. Lakota children learn to create positive futures for themselves and their communities.
