Loudoun-TJHSST Families Defense Fund

Loudoun County parents of students at the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology need to retain legal counsel to determine the validity of school board actions that have directly and negatively impacted those students and their families, and challenge those actions as appropriate.

The first step is to retain counsel to provide a legal opinion about the school board vote on May 28, 2019, to cancel all bus transportation for Loudoun County TJ families (affecting every family right now) and to cap future admissions from Loudoun County to 50 students (down from 110).

These funds will be used retain a knowledgable and experienced attorney to advocate on our behalf and for legal activities including but not limited to: establishing legal opinions on board actions, initiating Freedom of Information Act requests, and associated costs and fees for filing such actions.

About the organizer: I've been deeply involved in the school board politics surrounding TJ participation for the last two years, and I have experience as a technology startup CEO running corporations, keeping legal expenses down and keeping projects moving forward.  Education: Princeton University 1995, Scalia Law School 2020.
