Let's Thank Mrs. McAtamney!

I am Jennie Radford, parent of a senior at Saul High School and President of the Home & School Association. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, I would like to raise funds to help Jessica McAtamney with classroom supplies and special agricultural projects.

Jessica is an agricultural department head and social work department supervisor. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in Career and Technical Education and one of the founders of Henry Got Crops! CSA. She also facilitates the FFA Land-judging CDE, the University of Pennsylvania’s Engineers without Borders, and the Students Run Philly Style programming. Jessica served in the Peace Corps and has participated in an Education for Sustainable Development Fulbright.  She does all of this while raising two young children of her own. It's amazing to see her run races alongside our students while pushing a stroller!

This means a lot to me because Jessica has been instrumental in guiding my son as well as other students to break out of their shell. She is an excellent mentor and helps with students be exposed to new experiences such as running marathons, competing in FFA competitions, obtaining internships and more. This year she is even the main coordinator for Country Fair Day. 

So many teachers have to use their personal funds and take time away from their families in order to make sure our children have the supplies and support they need. I have never met a teacher with such tireless effort and energy to make sure that her students have the best opportunities. She is a strong supporter of the Home & School Association and without this relationship, it would be very hard for us to function.  

Jessica's involvement with the Saul community is invaluable and I think she deserves a token of our appreciation.
